Watering
At Installation
Ensure it has been watered thoroughly until saturated – check by lifting a corner and ensure the soil is wet underneath, especially the edges. Continue to maintain this moisture level for the first 2 – 3 weeks. Use exceptional caution in summer when it is hot, dry or excessively windy, it is crucial not to let the turf dry out.
Mowing
Once Established
Around 10 days check by gently pulling up a patch of turf to see if it is anchored down. Once anchored down conduct your first mow. Set your mower height to a setting of 50mm (aim to mow 1/3 of the leaf growth). Thereafter maintain a minimum mow height of 40mm, on your established turf grass, mowing every 5 to 6 days. You can continue to maintain a mow height of 40mm – 70mm. Keeping it at a longer length over the summer months to retain moisture.
Feeding
Prior to installation, a starter fertiliser would have been used to promote rapid root growth, from four to six weeks after installation, it is time to apply a quality slow-release fertiliser. Regular fertilisation will help maintain lovely, lush-looking turf by improving colour, vigour, and density and reducing the likelihood of weeds and disease.
